The tour takes place inside Jozani Forest, part of Jozani–Chwaka Bay National Park. Walking beneath tall trees and thick vegetation, visitors discover a peaceful environment filled with birds, insects, and unique plant species found only on the island.
One of the main highlights is seeing the endangered red colobus monkey, a species found only in Zanzibar. These monkeys move freely through the forest and are often seen jumping between trees or resting close to walking paths, allowing for excellent photos and close observation.
The tour continues through a mangrove swamp via a wooden boardwalk. Here, the guide explains how mangroves protect the coastline and support marine life. Visitors can spot small fish, crabs, and shrimp in the shallow waters below.
Along the walk, the guide introduces medicinal plants, hardwood trees, and traditional uses of forest resources. This section of the tour provides insight into how nature, culture, and conservation are closely connected in Zanzibar.
